Prudential Outdoor Learning Center
Greater Newark Conservancy’s Prudential Outdoor Learning Center is an urban oasis for learning
where visitors can explore the wonders of nature and the urban environment. Located in the heart
of downtown Newark, New Jersey, the Outdoor Learning Center is the perfect spot for groups to
spend part of the day experiencing interactive, hands-on activities with environmental and
horticultural themes. Visitors will be energized and inspired by this open space filled
with lush greenery.
The Prudential Outdoor Learning Center is an open space where urban residents, both young and old,
can reenergize their spirit, reduce their stress level and be educated about the improtance of
the natural world.. The site features ten thematic gardens, a working greenhouse, an analemmatic
sundial, a pond with a cascading stream, compost bins and a variety of informative exhibits.
