Barbara Mintz

Barbara Mintz is senior vice president for Healthy Living and Community Engagement for the RWJBarnabas Health system.  She is currently overseeing the wellness initiatives for both the employee and community population for RWJBarnabas Health.  Barbara has developed and directed innovated wellness programs such as “The Beth Challenge,” “KidsFit Newark,” and “The Beth Garden,” which have been recognized at both the state and national level, including receipt of the prestigious American Hospital Association’s NOVA award in 2012. These initiatives have served as pilots for the system’s Social Impact and Community Investment Practice pillar addressing food insecurity as one of the key social determinants of health.

Before entering healthcare, Barbara was a leader in the corporate retail and merchandising industry, working in both the buying and store lines for Stern’s, Macy’s, and Lord and Taylor. She has a B.A. in business administration and marketing from Seton Hall University, and a M.S. in nutrition from the College of Saint Elizabeth.  Barbara is a registered dietitian and a certified personal trainer.
