The evening will begin with a conversation with Natalie Baszile, author of We Are Each Other’s Harvest—an anthology capturing the plight of black farmers from Emancipation to present. Buki Elegbede, Emmy Award winning journalist and producer, will facilitate a lively, informative, and important conversation.  The evening will end by celebrating this year’s honorees, including Newark based growers who have made a significant impact on our community and the local food system.
